Haven't posted for a week or 3 and thought I should...

My round on the 18th of October was pretty much bogey golf that an 18 marker might not be happy with. All bogies save for 3 pars against 2 doubles & a triple. The 3 big numbers all from poor tee shots. My 91, net 78, for the day would be my 10th round on the trot where I've gone out 0.1. Something wasn't right.

That following week, I was to caddy for my ex trainee pro mate in the Victorian Mid Amateur Championship, held at The Sandhurst Club here in Victoria. What a great 4 days I had "inside the ropes"...

Watching some very good golfers play in a 4 round stroke event was too good an opportunity to pass up.

Would learn some useful lessons and having walked the course 5 times in 4 days and not hitting a ball, I was both excitedly eager and physically tired when I stepped on to the 1st tee in my club round last Saturday (25/10/08).

Where my round previous on the 18th had been a chore, and I scored accordingly, this round would be different, despite going 5 shots lower in shooting 86 off the bat, the round included 4 doubles & a triple. 11 over in 5 holes, 3 over the other 13. And, I know I left at least 6-8 shots out there, in that, the greens were very "furry" and I left many putts 6-8 inches short in the heart of the hole.

What was the difference....?

Well, I was firmly focused on swinging well within myself on EVERY shot. And having a picture in my mind of the shot I wanted to play before I stepped up to the ball.

Sounds simple now i know, but, this is something I don't think I had been doing previously.

Anyways, I am now keen to get out there again tomorrow.

It should be an interesting round....

Thanks for reading.

Cheers
