  • Flexibility Drills for Full Shoulder Turn

    Hi Guys

I'm not the most flexible guy, trust me. I would say I never get my back to the ball during my backswing.

Does any one have any stretching exercises they would recommend that promotes a full sholder turn?

    thanks

Don't know your physical limitations but take a shaft and hold it across the front of your chest with both hands. Now take a backswing and stop and hold there, take the shaft and hold it so it points down from your left shoulder, that should tell you where your backswing is. It should point somewhere near your right toe.
Most people think they don't turn enough when actually they do but don't know it. This causes them to turn too much and lose balance.
It is not necessary to turn 90 degrees, something just short of that is ok.
For flexibility, I like laying on the floor, keeping hips flat on floor and turn only upper body or sitting in a chair and doing the same thing.
Once I have turned to what seems like my maximum, I hold the turn and gradually turn somemore in little moves to the right, this will stretch you out in no time. You can do the same thing when turning to the left.
Keep in mind, this is stretching and should not be expected to make the same amount of turn when you actually swing a club.
    Hope this helps.
