  • re: Ramotar - Hitting down on the ball

I was having the same problem, but I have found a solution.

In my lessons with my CPGA pro, I found in my takeaway, he would always raise my hands and arms up from where I would put them. In essence, he was steepening my takeaway.

I have a naturally shallow backswing - long, low takeaway. But when I intentionally steepen my backswing, my downswing becomes steep, too, and my ball flight is much better - short wedges have almost a parabolic ball flight.

So try that - I feel like I'm trying to touch my chin with my arm before I turn my shoulders to steepen my backswing, as opposed to turning the shoulders more for a sweep.
