  • Driving woes cured for now

Hi all, I like most others struggled with driver direction and distance. Come on admit it , the untold massively huge quantity of advice being shared and secrets sold bares testament to this. I was certainly no different in looking for the silver bullet that would work for me. Then it dawned on me, I have absolutely no problem launching a fairway wood. I mean, the driver is no different to a 5 wood or 3 wood except driver is longer and has less loft , and with driver you get the advantage of teeing it up and having a huge sweet spot. So why am I at a complete loss as to where and how far it will send my ball ? I have followed all the advice and taken lessons. Well here's the rub, if you tell your self that it is only a big three wood and make the adjustment of placing the ball a little further forward to make up for the extra length, and THIS is essential, tee the ball down so that the bottom of the clubhead just clears the deck, you hit the sweet spot every time, there is no need to clout it, there is no need for any fancy moves, just hit the bastard , (a bit like the 3 skills). Eventually you will work out your optimum swing speed, before loss of control takes over. If you are worried about grounding your club until you get used to it,put a little tape on the bottom. Works a treat for me, and if it can even stop the torture for one of you my job is done.

PS I am aware of the irony of adding yet another swing theory
