I have read Hogan's five lessons, and I like his visualisation of the correct swing plane- club parallel to the imaginary pane of glass that goes down from the neck to the ball on the back swing.
I have read Leadbetter's book The Swing. His version of the plane is based around the angle of the shaft at address. On the back swing the club shaft at the 3 quarter position should be slightly steeper than the angle of the shaft at the address. On the down swing at the shaft returns to the angle of the shft at address as it is coming down. Leadbetter therefore advocates two planes, a steeper one followed by a shallowing.
Which method do you think is best?
