    Ok, this is a strange one... My driving abilities go up and down like the tide. one day i'll smack it straight and accurate all day without "trying", other days i can't seam to do a thing right, and when i do i can't do it over and over.

    My average drive lengths are about 240metres. with the occasional 260m whollop.

    but i think i've gone back to how i use to hit the ball many years ago. i now hit it very high, with or without a slice.

    so i'm thinking... am i trying to hit the ball too hard resulting in my hips coming through too early before my hands... is my downswing too steep, is my backswing too quick.??

    on another note. i was having the same problems with my irons, but i fixed that by moving closer to the ball. this didn't help with my drives though... result of the above maybe???

    i don't have a video but if you have any questions to ask me to help give me an answer that'd be great...

    I had the same problem today - and I think you nailed it down already - your downswing may be too steep. I slowed my takeaway down (I find if I take it away too quicky I come down too quickly) and I flattened my swing out and no more pop ups - it clould also be that you are teeing your ball too high given your angle of attack.

      ok. well just about figured it all out.

      few things i was doing wrong. maybe someone else can take something outta this info.

      my swing was too round. so i made my follow-through come out higher straightening my swing path.
      i also told myself to just swing with my arms (saying this i do turn my shoulders), but i had a bad problem of letting my hips rotate around too early opening up my clubface... hitting it high and slice right. so i let my arms come through and let them turn my body facing the target.

      i think they were the 2 major changes, but i did open up my clubface a lil and not have it so closed.

      the result of the above meant my drives remained at a much more friendly launch angle and not so high and the ball generally stayed dead straight.
