  • Bellerive Country Club

I was lucky enough to play Bellerive Country Club yesterday, the site for this years BMW Championship. I live in St. Louis and went to the event on Sunday and saw Camillo win and followed my boy Anthony Kim around the whole day. We played it all the way back, the same as the pros played for the BMW, and it was probably one of the best experiences of my life. Let me just first tell you guys that this course is not easy, to shoot 15 under for 4 days is beyond my comprehension, and not only that but they played it as a par 70 for the BMW but we played it as a par 72, they took two par 5's and made them par 4s for the BMW. The course was in great shape, especially after the flood it experienced shortly after the event. I was pleased to shoot 81 (+9), my two goals were to par the 9th hole and make one birdie. I wanted to par 9 because I remember Anthony Kim bogeyed it on Sunday, and I wanted to say I beat him at something lol, and I was able to bomb a drive down the middle and hit 8 iron into the uphill green to about 15 feet and left my birdie putt just short but an easy tap in. The par 3 13th was a 180 yard par 3, and I hit a 6 iron to about 20 feet and had a tough downhill putt but somehow it found the hole and I made my birdie so I beat AK on two holes lol. But to be out there and look at how far these players hit their tee shots its just unbelievable. On 18 there is a fairway bunker to the left at about probably 260 to the start of it and 310 to clear it. My ball hopped into the bunker just barely, but Camillo's tee shot on Sunday completely cleared those bunkers on the fly. It's just hard to understand how good these guys really are, I would suggest that if anyone was offerered an opportunity to play wehre the pros have played definitely do it because you will have an even better understanding of how good these guys really are.
