What a question!!! Get the biggest, meanest head you can find stuck on to the end of a graphite shaft.

Seriously now. Sorry, I'm like a kid in a sweet shop when we get to talk golf equipment.

Start with taking advantage of the new technology for the last say year or so. So, either go with the "fusion" technology of Callaway where they have perfected the fusion of graphite and steel linked up with the perimeter weight of the FT-3. Cobra seem to have a great formula brewing with their aerodynamic head ... the new Speed drivers (according to the research) cut through the air adding a few % to club head speed. Taylor Made of course have the ability to move weight accross the club head to design a particular ball flight and launch condition.

The best thing to do is to go to a well-stocked retailer, pack some sandwiches and drinks, and picnic in the shop while you hit every single driver they have until you find a head and shaft that works for you.

But, I always advise you keep to the branded equipment, not necessarily the premium brands, okay? Even brands like Pinseeker, Dunlop, Slazenger, Tiger Shark, MacGregor ... they're all fine.
