Greetings from the land of pasta, sun and wine - though we're in the north, so we'll soon be replacing the sun with snow!
I've finally decided to take advantage of our golf club and have some lessons in a few weeks. We're quite lucky in having a 6- hole practice ground very close and some great golf courses all within 45 mins drive.
My question is this: I'm not sure whether to buy a Starter Set, a half Starter Set (8 clubs), or just perhaps buy a bag and 3-4 quality clubs to start with and then add over time.
The Starter Sets I've seen here are PowerBilt and Ram. They look very nice, but I can't help noticing that they're far less than what a set of well-known clubs would cost.
Since I'm a beginner and will be spending a lot of time on the practice ground where a few irons and a putter will suffice, I don't see the need for a full set.
What do you guys think?
Steve
