I come from Australia and have watched this forum for the past year.
I have taken a number of the tips provided here and applied them with success (eg. the tip on driving - drill which you perform inside your home up against the wall.)
I haven't been able to play any golf for the past year, except at the driving range (I can now drive approx. 230 metres accurately and consistently with and old steel driver.)
I am now in the position where I can play at a club again . Got a membership to a golf club (for the first time in my life - before this I had only played for about three months at the end of 2004.)
This weekend I have played my first round of 18 towards a handicap. I played terribly (shot 119) due to not playing for soooo long and being soooo nervous and tense for the week leading up to it and on the day - but, I was ecstatic at that anyway .
I topped the tee-shot for the first seven holes but then got pars for the following two (par 5 & par 4 holes.) After the first seven holes I out-drove, with accurracy (on all tee-shots), the other three players who all had big titanium drivers - it felt awesome!!! .

Anyway, I think that this is a great site and, due to the atrocious display of putting which I put on yesterday I will now be targeting putting.
I hope to find lots of tips and chat about putting - you may even get a post from me on putting as I progress.
