  • Reference to teaching players te swing on the inside during the downswing.

I have found that the number one cause of swinging outside during the downswing is the sudden urge to give the ball an all might thump!
When this occurs the shoulders always initiate the downswing giving the golfer a feeling of power. Unfortunately a feeling of power at this point is useless and only moves the club out and away from its inside swing plane. Instead of swinging your right elbow to your side in the downswing try to swing both your arms 'down' while your shoulders stay relatively 'quiet'. Then when your in the hitting zone get stuck into the serious business of letting it rip! Surely it all gets down to constructing a swing were club head speed is maximized at the ball NOT at the early part of the down swing. I hope my thoughts help.
