Yup, I'm with you 2k3. Living in Gatineau, Quebec (just across the river from 2k3 in Ottawa), I can't see us golfing until May at this rate. 2nd highest recorded amount of snow in Ottawa's history (over 4 metres total!!!). My back yard was 4 feet deep 2 weeks ago and is now 2 foot deep, but with rain...

We had quite a large wet season here this year.
Rain stopped about a month ago, and the course is still wet in places.

Here in the UK, due to a wet year - much like years passed - we now have climate change rather than global warming.

Apparantly that means that whatever the weather we have to stop driving our cars and rely on our integrated public transport system which like our health, education and...

    Depressed....

Saturday increased my depression by 51cm of pure, white, frozen snow. So the golf season is even further away when compared to a week ago.

Starting to think that my 2008 golf season will begin March 2009.

The "chipping" portion of the drill is easy...

  • Once you are confident of the line all that is left is the pace.
    Short is easy to determine.
Long takes a little bit of inginuity. If I know where I have to putt to get it in then I can determine where I can aim to just miss. Putting to this miss mark will result in observing pace...

  • I agree Charlse, this would help with line certainly, and trusting the line once you'd settled on one...

Though, it seems to me it wouldn't help at all with pace...

Hardware store laser level for better putting...

The other day at my winter practice spot I was showing off one of the things I have been working on ... putting along the beam of a laser level.

It is so crazy it ... does actually work ... go figure.

The main idea is that if the laser beam is hitting my ball then I know...

    Winter practice - facility

Purchased a winter membership at an indoor place which has a number of ammenities:

Putting green: 6 holes, probably max out at 15 ft putts, and some holes depending on where you putt from have some unintentional breaks.

Chipping: when it is not busy you are allowed to chip...
