Well. The day started with me 8 strokes behind the leader and 6 strokes behind second. With our leader being a mid 20's capper and the guy in second off 18, and both of them under handicap for both rounds I was reasonably confident that if I could shoot a nett mid 60's I'd be in the mix.

What followed was the stuff of horror movies. Probably my worst round this year.

Won't go into any detail here other than to say I had given up all hope of getting anywhere close after the 3rd hole. At that point I was 5 over the card with 3 3 putt greens, no fairways or greens hit.

For the 3rd week in succession I was drawn to play with "Old Mate" and I am embarrased to admit, I let that fact get to me...

3 times across the front 9 he walked across in front of my target line (albeit some 20-30m away) whilst I was about to pull the trigger.

Also, on no fewer than 4 separate occasions, he played either a chip or a putt when another ball was in motion...

And, I have to admit, I was willing his ball to hit the ball in motion so I could tell him he was breaking the rules and had to penalise himself two strokes...

At the end of the day it didn't really matter, he shot a nett 85 to my nett 81.

Signed for a 96/15/81 with 2 balls OOB, 4 3 putts, 40 putts in total. Not happy.

At this point, I am unsure if I will play tomorrow. Its AFL Grand Final Weekend here and Melbourne is abuzz with excitement in anticipation of tomorrows game.

It's fair to say that I'm looking forward to a weekend without the sticks and may just enjoy the match on the big screen with a few mates at my local watering hole...

And, that said, next week is BATHURST...

Can't wait...

Enjoy your respective weekends, and as always......

Cheers
