We had 40 players start the day and only 7 finish. Clearly my club mates are not made of stern stuff. Either that or none of them have good wet weather gear...
My round started well, was striking the ball well, despite struggling to keep things dry (I too need better wet weather gear

When it became so wet and windy that it seemed almost pointless to continue any attempt at staying dry, my round also started to appear pointless.
Well, no, that's not quite right. I played through, finishing the 18 holes. The experience I gleaned will be valuable in future rounds. I turned the day into an exercise in self control. Maintaining my peaceful mind set in the most trying conditions I've played in for many years.
Would go on to card 28 points with 7 wiped holes. This was a day where the blowouts returned, but, given the conditions, I was easily able to accept them and move on.
Now to next week, our last round before Christmas, which is our family & guests break up day. We play a very casual 4 man ambrose event, complete with a couple of Santa's walking the course. The obligatory post round barbeque and frothies.
Will be a great day.
Seasons Greetings.
