Hi All,
I'm back from an enforced lay off; I won't bore you with the details, it's just good to be back.
For the past few months I have been trying to get my groove back without any success. Honestly, I had got to the stage where I was sick of tips from well meaning friends and totally embarrassing myself in every game. I have been over and over the so called essentials of the golf swing and had come to the point where I really believed that it wasn't going to come back; I need lessons or just give it up completely.
It was then that I picked up the book "Nail It" by Joe Hagan.
I have to admit that when I first bought it, I had posted some words of criticism about it being too simplistic. I still believe this to be so for the person picking up a club for the first time.
Now, I was so ready for it; it was exactly what I needed. Having come to the conclusion that the golf swing is just too complex for me to figure out on my own. This book was a breath of fresh air. I had been focusing too much on the stance, position of the hands, outside to in, inside to out, ball placement, etc, etc, and not enough on just hitting the ball. I found that just concentrating on the impact zone and not being concerned about how I got it there, was truly freeing.
My game has been transformed. The results I have got and happened quickly and every practice session yields improvement and I am confident that more will come.
I have my confidence back and am enjoying my game again.
