I had bought "nail it" sometime ago and regrettably dismissed it as too simplistic. I recently submitted a thread on this but received no response. This is just an update confirming the books validity. I have a serious back complaint requiring a modified swing. I discovered that our local pro teaches just that. I have only just started with him and am very impressed. He knows nothing of the book, but the first instruction drill has saved me from the gradually increasing back pain and the thoughts of giving the game away. The three skills in a nutshell teaches that it does not matter how you swing providing you practice three easy millstones AND your hands and wrists are correct through the impact zone, you will dramatically improve your ball striking and thereby dramatically improve your golf.
My first drill was to stop the drastic turn of my hips to 45* to the right, and to scale back the length of my swing. This involved putting my feet together ,holding a tennis ball between my knees and reducing my swing by half, and completing a full standing finish WOW, I struck the ball immediately, cleanly and it accurately travelled further than anything I had been hitting when previously busting my gut to achieve the same or less than successful result. Proof of the effectiveness and safety of both my instructors methods and the three skills. I would welcome any discussion on this.
