Where do you buy your golf equipment? With so many people buying from online stores and major golf outlet stores, does anyone still buy their golf equipment from their local pro shop?

A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.
I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.
For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor.
Re: Where do you buy your golf equipment?
When buying complete clubs, I buy through eBay or a swap shop. I can't bring myself to pay full price for a club.
Otherwise, I buy components and assemble them myself.

Re: Where do you buy your golf equipment?
Only being new to this game, (and useless too) I can't justify $700+ for a set of clubs, so ebay was the logical choice for me. As and when (if) I get better I'll treat myself to a better set and then i might look at the pro shop where there's an opportunity to try out a few different sets etc.

Re: Where do you buy your golf equipment?
I use a shop and one pro shop that is just owned by a regular guy, who can get you anything at a much reduced price than any Pro shop or Major outlet.
He always accepts your old equipment back and gives you a much better second hand value, plus he's always allows for a little bartering.
If you are there long enough you can always get a brew too........thats tea for those out of the UK.
The shop is Potteries Golf and the club is below.

The Pro who works there is David Lynn's brother.

Re: Where do you buy your golf equipment?
I get all my equipment from the pro-shop. I am a left handed lady beginner and they have been able to get me very cheap clubs. They have however problems to get me a 9 iron and driver and I might buy online to keep the cost down if I have to buy a major brand.

I get my gear online, I also buy components online and get a local clubmaker to assemble them.
For those of you in the central scotland area looking for a good quality clubmaker, check out www.xsgolf.co.uk based in Edinburgh. I have used him and found his work top notch.
