  • How much of the butt sticks out of the spine finder?

    Hi,

I've got a spine finder from gamolagolf.co.uk, the instructions say to leave 3-4" of the butt protruding from the spine finder during the process. Watching JB's video, hardly any butt is visible, only a few centimetres at the most. I've tried both and I get different results, albeit they are consistently different. Is there any theory on this and what is the best method?

    thanks

Re: How much of the butt sticks out of the spine finder?

When I used a bearing based spinefinder, I'd simply let 2' from the tip hang out of the front bearing.

Using the NF4, I set my beam length to 35" and spine.

But really, I don't use a bearing based finder anymore. I use a clamp and a laser and check for FLO, then use a Freq meter to check for a spine on either side of FLO.
