  • Does anyone know clones "Akon" or "Acer"

    Hi,

I lost my bag and all clubs where in it. I need to buy everything new. I'll buy a Callaway Big Bertha 460 driver, but other clubs I'm thinking of buying clones. I've been checking a site: http://www.nordicagolf.se/?s=search&...2&hcp=1&cat=12

And they have "Akon NT 755" and "Acer XP 905 Pro" Callaway clones. Does anyone have any experience on these?

On the site is also a "Custom Fit" Guide. It suggest that I have a +1 angle lie. Sound reasonble - I used to play with a 1/2 inch longer shaft, but lie angle setup might be better for my current swing.

    From a while ago....

... you'll find some thoughts about Acer buried in the thread and I'm sure Slats will give you an opinion based on experience if you PM him.

btw how did you get on with the Mind Swings book? from the lack of feedback I'm assuming it didn't do anything for you.

      ...............

Sorry for not writing. I've been playing:-) ... and reading the book. Some parts several times. I do not agree on everything. Some statements seem very much opposite what I believe. BUT I like the general idea. I have tested the "single thought" as I cannot empty my mind. I disagree about imagination - I do like to use it. At the moment I'm not imagining the ball flight, but the impact and divot. If impact is good, ball will fly where it has been aimed at:-)

It has been a very helpful book. I think it's good to find ideas that you agree, but also it's valuable to notice ideas that are not quite what you believe in.

Quick look at the thread - Shaft is important?
It's difficult to choose a shaft with out testing one.

I'm playing with graphic shaft at the moment, but I'll go with steel shafts.
(I think it's easier to play from rough and also chipping is easier with steel shaft. Graphic shaft bends and shoots the ball if you make a fat hit, when chipping and in rough the face turns more easier...)

If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.

Now, it's not always a treat to work on clone gear, and some clubmakers won't touch the stuff (the risk of breakage is always present with gear, but it's higher with clones due to their lower manufacturing tolerances).

Beware the XDS2's - their face is actually concave.

Pleased its been useful to some degree; I'd agree that some of the ideas seem odd and run counter to orthodox thinking but in itself that is probably good if it makes one stop, think and reconsider.

Hireko has the Acer line of clubs. They took it over from Dynacraft. If your looking for reasonably decent clones then SVG (Sun Valley Golf) makes some that are bendable by two degrees.
