  • First custom question?

Hi all, I currently have no assembled clubs out of 2 sets! I pulled my Wilson Ci7 kit apart after the discussion on spine position and realising I had it all wrong.Thinking it would be a pretty quick job in I went. I ended up checking the lie position while I was there and was surprised to find that if I slipped each one a slot eg. 8 head on the 9 shaft they come up spot on. The swing weights ended up between D1 to C8. I don't think that is real bad and possibly not enough to notice. I will however have to come up with a gap wedge shaft to complete the original set. The easiest way seems to be to cut down the left over 4 iron shaft. I assume I would remove the length from toe end as the 4 shaft and gap head come in at F6 ! Will I get that much ?The shafts are true temper tx 105 specially made for this line.

    Regards, golfshooter.

    Re: First custom question?

Generally speaking an OEM club is a .355 taper tip - so do NOT take material off the tip.

Hacking down the 4i shaft will be a stop-gap solution - the proper solution is to buy a tx 105 wedge shaft.

Yes I think you are right, as it turned out my 6 wood shaft was warped badly so i will have to go that way anyhow.

Hi again, Problem solved. I knew I have been collecting random clubs from far and wide for a reason. I started this long before I got into the tinkering and building obsession. I found a perfectly matched True Temper shaft for both my gap and warped 7 iron. Regular flex dynalites, fitted and balanced, no cutting required! How's that for sheer arse? Sometimes life is sweet.

Best wishes for the season all, golfshooter.
