    they are aligned properly?

I change my grips all the time and have always wanted to put on a set of ribbed grips but I have been reluctant to put them on because I'm not sure how you get the rib aligned properly so that the club face is square when I grip the club. Is there a trick to getting these grips on straight?

Al, if you don't have a vice the club is held in when you regrip, push the head of the club up against a door or wall then put the grip on. When the grip is on do some basic aligning ...

Finally lift the club up and look down the shaft to make sure the ribs run in a line straight down the shaft.

Ribbed grips have alignment dots or marks on the back side of the grip as well to aid in alignment. At least the grips I have used did. I converted to round grips back in the early 90s. No worries about whether the grip is aligned properly or not with round grips.

Use a compressor and a straight edge. Blow 'em on.
