I have built myself a spine finder (thanks Lowpost) and am going to pull my shafts sometime this week.
I have a couple of questions I'd like answered before I apply the blowtorch to my clubheads.
I have read that ,when spining ,it doesn't matter if you push the shaft down or pull the shaft up.
I have had a practice go with a spare (albeit very stiff) shaft and have noticed the spine is in a totally different place when pulling the shaft upwards as opposed to pushing the shaft down.
Is this normal?
I prefer to push the shaft down as it's easier to control and roll.
I've also found that a lot of WD40 makes the shaft spin into place very easily.
Will too much WD40 give me a false reading?
I want to be doubley sure of the installation position of the spine.
Does it definitely face the target (9 o'clock position)?
Sorry if this seems a long winded post but this is the first time I have attempted this and I want to get it right.
