  • J B's Spine Tool.

Just wondered if anyone had the instructions that come with this tool?

I managed to get one through the local classifieds but the guy didn't have the instructions that came with it.

I e mailed the JB people and ,even though I explained why I don't have them ,they still want $25 for the instructions ,which I find excessive (I won't be buying any more of their stuff if this is an example of the customer service they provide).

I already know how to spine my shafts but they claim to be able to do it with the head still attached and I want to know how (but not for $25).

Any help appreciated (e mail if required).

You can do it with the head still on ,by removing the grip.

Does the weight of the head not affect the location of the spine?

I would have thought the head would want to point down no matter how much you flex the shaft.

And why does the grip effect the spine?

by removing the grip, the shaft will now fit inside the roller bearings.

Thanks Tbar - I re-read your posts... yes, it's easier (IMO and IMS) to pop the grip off rather than pull the head.
