new grips

I am going to attempt to re-grip my irons. i have successfully re-griped one club before, my question is about the butt size of the shaft. do you get different size grips for different size shaft butt or is it one size fits all.can anyone advise me regarding this thanks

There are (generally speaking) .580 and .600 shaft butts, for women and men, respectively. Also, grips come in different core sizes, ranging from .540 to .620.

If you match up the butt and core size, you will have a standard size grip (ie a .600 core with a .600 butt will make for a standard grip).

A smaller core over a bigger butt will make an oversized grip.

To make an undersized grip, you can often stretch a grip down the shaft (grips like Tour Velvet are great for this).
