  • Different shafts for different clubs?

After reading all the posts on shafts I had a closer look at mine. I was fitted last fall...

    Driver- Nova Teck 7000
    3W - Nova Teck 7500
    5W - Nova Teck 7500
    Irons - Nova Teck i800

I would have thought that the shafts would all be the same!
Do the numbers represent stiffness? Why are they different?

I've never even heard of Nova Teck shafts. I'm sure the numbers are simply an identification system.

I play different shafts in my wedges, irons, hybrids, fairway woods, and driver.

Now, I'll play the SAME shaft in each above category (ie all my wedges will have the same shaft), but different shafts do different things.

a good way to tell, is to have the pro shop put the shafts on a frequency meter and compare it to the lenght of the shaft on a chart. this should tell you how stiff they are and if they are all the same degree of stiffness

I don't think so... these numbers are a good 1/3rd of the shaft, in fact, both sides on the shaft! Very bold lettering. Made in the USA, silver. Don't get me wrong, I love these clubs, I just want to know what the numbers represent.

          Right Keith.

In much the same way AGGRESSIVE nRAGE or AccuFLEX Evolution is printed on the respective shafts.

how about UST ProForce shafts? Same thing.
