  • OboyOboyOboy!

    It's here!

My first loft and lie machine arrived today!

I purchased an MR3 True Blue (www.mr3golfdesigns.com). It's stupid easy to use (and it's brutal how out-of-spec some clubs are).

Just telling the world - thanks for listening!

      Re: OboyOboyOboy!

I paid ~ $1000 USD shipped for both the machine and the stand.

I do clubmaking part-time - and was sick of seeing out-of-spec heads. At $10/club CAD, I'm sure I can make my money back eventually.

I've been playing with it off and on throughout the afternoon... with a little practice, I could probably get a set of irons mesaured up in less than 15 minutes. I could probably bend a set of irons (every iron) in about 40 (and I figure 30 once I get used to bending clubs).

fair enough. good luck with making your money back, im sure you will make it back quickly if you get good with using it, maybe gain abit of a reputation around your club or mates as being the person to go to for club fitting.

Question; Will your machine also handle the different types of hybrids that are comming on the market? Thanks, GJS

            Re: OboyOboyOboy!

Part of the reason that I wasn't afraid to buy it is that I'm pretty sure that I'm the only one in town with a bending machine, and the closest one is an hour away.

The reason I went with the True Blue is because it does it all - woods, irons and putters.

I'm assuming the wood blocks will work for the hybrids - I'll be chatting with Roy about that.

              Re: OboyOboyOboy!

Well, Mr Lowpost, I can definitely say that you know about club making than probably the general people at golf shops. I dont think those people wouldnt have done as much research and self study as you have.

              Great stuff.

I would certainly ask for your assistance if I lived in your area. But for now, I will just have to ask for your advice online.

very cool Ben. I am quite envious as I have wanted one of these for quite some time.

Besides the $1000, the problem is that there are too many around my neck of the woods with this equipment to make it worth while for me to buy one. For these type of adjustments I send people to the local PCS guy.

One of the few benefits of living in the middle of Northern Nowhere, I guess.
