  • small hands. problem?

apologies if there are similar threads on this site. im now at a point where i feel i am grooving a consistent swing and my distances are quite good but my accuracy could be better im really focusing on my set up but to no avail. i bought a set of mx15's off the shelf but im wondering if they need tweaking. im 5' 8" 166 pounds but have very small hands (even a small glove is baggy sometimes) could grip size be a potential problem. really happy with recent progress but dont want to be hampered by potentially ill fitting equipment

It never hurt to be fitted, even if the size of your grips is not the problem it can affect your game if you think it is. To make your grips smaller all a fitter does is strech them out a bit. The grip covers more area and therefore becomes thinner.

I have small hands and I use womens grips as they tend to be thinner.
Golf prde do the Tour Velvet in a womans size and, in my opinion, you won't find a better grip than this one.

If you can't find womans grips try stretching a standard tour velvet about an inch when re gripping (assuming you grip your own clubs).

Oh, yes - absolutely, grip size has a big part to play in the golf swing and the impact algnment. If your grips are too thick, it can restrict your wrist hinge or if they are too thin, it can result in wrists and hands that are too active.

On your grip hand, your middle & ring finger should just touch the pad of your palm.

As a rule of thumb: if your grip size is mens medium standard mens grips are fine. For each size up, add 1 layer of tape under the grip. If you use mens small glove, you need a thinner grip.

          thanks for your reply guys,
i have sorted the problem out now being a shorta**e ive had my clubs shortened and regripped. i had quality grips fitted and the difference is brilliant distance and accuracy are a ton better!

ive had a good month the driver slice has disappeared and hitting my irons
sweetly and starting lessons this week.
          be lucky
