    Re: reg or stiff shaft

    hi lowpost & gonavy

just letting you know the conclusion to my driver problem.
i took the 9.5 stiff flex back to the shop and swapped it for the 10.5 reg flex. ive spent all afternoon at the range and after a few small adjustments to my set up hitting it really sweet. the 10.5 has a slight draw bias so flies slightly left to right but it is consistent. by the end of the session i was consistently hitting the 250 yd marker so thats an increase on average by 60/70yds!!!

    thanks for your advice guys

Just for S&G you should grab the R flex 12°. I'd be interested to see if it went further than the 10.5° (and straighter)

              hi gonavy,
just managed to view your thumbnails im getting more idea about the technical side of golf thanks to this site. thankfully i bought the right driver and my slice is a thing of the past (for now) ive had my irons shortened and re-gripped and im finding the sweet spot nicely now and ive bitten the bullet and found a good local teaching pro so start lessons this week.
              thanks again mate

Outstanding...lol....glad to hear a success story. Your decision to take lessons now is a good one. I can tell you it is much, much, much easier to learn correctly when you begin, then to play for years, then have to unlearn, then learn later. If I give a lesson and have my choice between a beginner and a mid handicapper, I take the beginner every time, because I don't have to proof what I am saying or fight them to change...lol...some people are so ingrained with thier belief, you have to hit them with a club and get thier attention first, which always amazies me, because if they were hitting the ball good, they won't be taking lessons in the first place, then they want to argue with you...lmao

                  Re: reg or stiff shaft

LMAO - exactly. Actually, I was one of those who had to be hit on the head!! That's why I find it so funny. When one of our golf pros pulled me aside about 10 years ago and said if he could swing the club as fast as I could, he would be able to hit the ball consistantly over 350 yards. When I told him I didn't think there was any difference between my swing and his, he almost died from laughter. Until I saw a video, I didn't believe how bad my swing was. 10 years later I have learned more about the golf swing than I ever knew existed (and I am still learning.) I use the video to hit others over the head. It is so much easier to just show people what they are doing wrong rather than explain what they are doing wrong, only to have them argue with me.

Another thing for cutters.....get thinner grips to allow your hands to come into the swing more obviously vice versa for hookers...
