(Dynamic Gold) can "U' make a difference?
04-18-2006, 12:57 AM
I bought a set of used irons with Dynamic Gold X100 shafts. A couple of the shafts say X100U and the rest say X100. Does anyone know what the "U" means? Are these different flexes?
Thanks

A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.
I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.
For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor.

Hi goldjeep,
The "U" stands for 'unitized tip'. This is True Tempers' version of 'parallel tip'.
I think that the shaft bands are improperly installed.
What irons do you have? This will tell us which shafts are improperly labelled.

My irons are KZG forged blades which do take a .370 parallel tip. I guess they "should be" the same flex. Thanks

Ooooohhhhh... nice sticks!
Depending on who built them, they should all be the same flex. However, they should all be reading X100U.
It's no big deal - they're still parallel tip, I'll bet. My first time installing TT shafts, I did the same thing (didn't show the U).
