any club builders heard of these shafts?

During an early morning web browsing (such as now) I came across these shafts on Ebay. I was originaly checking out the grips from this manufacturer and got interested in the shafts.

they're being handled by an official eBay Trading Assistant
The shafts have been won for $85 to $130 for 11

I did win the bid for a set of 11 shafts, 3 woods and 8 irons as well as 11 grips and some instruction vids.

I've had some reservations since. I can find absolutly nothing written on these shafts or the company in a google search. Figured if they were so ahead of the rest in some type of special development they can get away with asking for 7 grand for a set of clubs that these shafts are used in, there'd have to be somewthing written?

I paid for these early this month but do to some fedex screw up they're lost. The guy's on the level as his feed back shows more than a few buyers who've got theirs and seem to be happy with them.

I've been offered a refund for the aggrivation. The price I paid was fair and I've got a set of naked irons in waiting. I had planned to take them down and have them checked over to see if they were of any value before I set them. This guy does offer a satisfaction gaurentee

Of course if some of you experienced club makers are shaking your heads and quoting PT Barnum. I might consider the refund now and move on?

I think if the parcel is lost, take the refund, regardless of what was in the box.

As for the A&A swag...

If their stuff is so good, why haven't I heard more about it on other forums (obviously they're not paying PGA'ers to play their stuff)?

Caveat Emptor is always the rule when trying something new. I've been known to buy stuff just to try it out.

They have some interesting things written on their website. But where are the pictures of their stuff? I can see both sides of the coin - they don't want their proprietary stuff taken, but shouldn't they be proud of their stuff, and show it off? In the world of golf, how it looks is part of the confidence equation. How can I know what it looks like IF THERE ARE NO PICTURES?

Figure if these shafts were the greatest thing since (add cliche here) they'd proudly display their stuff?

Like to see a set of $7,000 colbalt iron clubs. They use colbalt for head material 'cause it's more dense than stainless. So's gold I think. For 7 grand I at least want gold for my low center of gravity instead of tungsten

None the less. The discription of the shafts interested me so I bought. This post pretty much asking those that know their shafts. Can you build a shaft to multi flex? And would that be a good thing?

Shafts and other items I bought came today by fedex. So they aren't lost just fedex's loss of tracking? The iron shafts are 41" and the woods 47" x .600 bore. no other info on the shafts. Their supposebly R flex

My local clubmaker is swamped so he won't have time to do any type of analysis on these till next week

postal mail just came and my JB spine finder was in it as well as my zero friction tees so I'll play around with the spine of these things.

There are clubs out there built to multiple flexes, often called combo shafts. The most popular types are L/A and R/S, but Apollo has the Balistik that is L/A/R/S, and 44" long with 12" of PTS.

I'll tell ya the breadown of clubs interest me a great deal and the knowledge I've gained in the last cpl of months since I took up golf again has been mentaly satisfying, often overwhelming as well as a tad expenisive. That's all I need, another hobby

From what I read Apollo's multi flex shaft allows trims for either L/A/R/S flex from one shaft. I don't feel this is what I was reading when reading the description or what the manufacturer was making? What they were desribing was multple 'hinge' points in the shaft during a swing.

OUR SHAFTS HAVE several kick points, STARTING RIGHT BELOW THE GRIP, AND FOUR MORE GOING ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE CLUBHEAD

The only thing my inexperienced club making mind can relate this to would be trojectory points


Then when reading the desription from the seller he writes:

Bore: Irons is .370 and the Woods is .335.
Weight: 75 Grams
Torque: 3 Degrees
Flexpoint: Mid-Kick

So what are the multiple kick points if the trogectory kick point is mid? And what benefit if any would a shaft like this have?

I did a basic spining of them this afternoon. Nothing pure about them nor anything odd of the neutral or stiff spine of the shafts.

I probably got just a set of mid priced type graphite shafts for a decent price that likely in their prime selling years had some good PR guys working their MoJo on those ppl with too much money?

They look nice tho, kind of a burgandy black shade to them
