I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.

Re: grips?
.680???
My man, that's gigantic.
When you consider that one layer of tape adds about 0.010-0.012 in thickness, you're talking about seven wrapss of buildup tape (assuming a .600 butt, and not a .610), before adding your 2 sided tape, and grip.
Granted, the other way to do it would be to get a .580 grip (always assuming a .600 butt). This will slap .020 onto the size, reducing your need of buildup tape by 2 layers.
If you can find one, get a .560 grip. Then you only need 3 layers of tape... if you can even get the grip started.
Helluva project you've got started. I hope (for your sake) you're using compressed air to put this grip on...

Re: grips?
Well, with a .700 bore, even a .680 grip will be .020 oversize (1/32, I think).
The only other thing you might try is getting like a Tour Velvet grip, and stretching it down the shaft. Buy as big a core as you can find.

Re: grips?
just a quick word for folks with a taylormade 540xd. a golfpride wrap grip will strech onto this huge shaft butt. its a big upgrade from the tm supplied grips. the iron grips are better, i have rac ht irons. grips are,not too bad. just my 2 cents
