  • Club fitting--what about fairway woods?

I have recently discovered that a great deal of my maladies with my irons is that the toe of the clubs is raised about 2 degrees. I've got some used Adams Ideas coming from an eBay purchase and will have them fitted to my needs.

That said, what about my fairway woods and 4 and 5 i-Woods? Am I right that these cannot be bent? I notice that I make contact with these much more consistently than with my old irons, but wouldn't I make even better contact if they could be adjusted? Or should I just try to stand more upright when I swing them?

Don't worry about the lie angle in your longer clubs - anything longer than a 5 iron (but not an iron) isn't effected enough to warrant the risk of bending. As a witty compatriate of mine once said:

Anything can be bent. The question is how much, and will it break before it bends?

In the case of fairway woods, I wouldn't try bending them. Soft-hosel hybrids and irons are fair game, though.
