I have been golfing for two years now, and during the winter, here in Toronto, I am going to get fitted for some clubs. I am considering getting a hybrid set of clubs. If anyone has some advice on what to look for, costs, etc it would be much appreciated.
How can I objectively determine the quality of a club head? I have a set of top Flight and a set of Callaway Hawkeye Irons. I realize that the Callaway’s are made with tungsten – not sure how that helps – are perimeter weighted – and the club heads are thicker and bigger – presumably more forgiving – beyond that I haven’t a clue on what makes one club head more desirable than another.
Also, should I go to a small shop or the Wal-Mart of Golf – like Golf town in Canada. I am thinking that a major chain has a reputation to protect and if I have problems, they would be better to deal with. Also if the clubs are over a certain amount, I perhaps $500.00 golf Town will waive the cost of the fitting.
Thanks in advance, your thoughts and suggestions are always appreciated!
