Hi, I´m not sure about the butt size of my shafts. I´m playing a titleist 990 dci with a dynamic gold r 300 shaft. Last time I regripped them, I put the Lamking Crossline standart grips (0.580) with a layer of soubled sized tape, but I think they are too small for my hands. I´d just like to know the butt size of this shaft because I think my hands size are between a midsize and a standart size. Should I use a 0.600 grips with a standart size or a 0.580 with 2 or 3 layers of tape? Thanks

Re: Dynamic Gold R300 Butt size?
The butt size on the DG's are .600"
You've currently got a +1/64" grip on your club.
Every layer of buildup tape adds another ~ .010" of thickness, and every .015" is another 1/64" increase.
So to get to 1/32 oversize, a M58 grip on a .600" butt with 1 wrap of buildup should get you there. A M60 grip will require 3 layers of buildup.

Re: Dynamic Gold R300 Butt size?
I ´m using the lamkin crossline standart size (0.580) in a shaft that is 0.600. What should I do if I want to make my grips bigger?I ´m thinking in buying a midsize grip to put in my Dynamic Gold Shaft. If I buy a midsiez grip, should I take the 0.580 or the 0.600??Thanks

If you go midsize .600 core, your grips will be +1/32
If you go midsize .580 core, your grips will be +3/64

Re: Dynamic Gold R300 Butt size?
You've got it backwards.
A midsize grip (vs its regular counterpart) is +1/32" bigger when using the same core size.
By using a smaller core (or a bigger butt, however you want to look at it), you have to now stretch the grip even bigger. So a midsize with a smaller core will be 1/64 bigger than a midsize with an equal core. (smaller and equal to the butt size).
I'm sorry you don't work in inches, but the entire golf community does when discussing clubs. I've never heard of a 115 cm driver, have you?

Re: Dynamic Gold R300 Butt size?
Thanks for your help Lowpost! I really appreciate your quick replies. I´m working now with inches but luckily, we still using metres in Spain to measure the holes. After a few years, I´m able to work with yards and metres without a problem. I think I´m going for a midsize grip 0.600 because the grips that I already got are a bit small for me and I tend to take the club with my palm instead of my fingers. I´m working hard to reduce my handicap to 4. Actually I play with a 6 hcp in a golf course of Malaga. Thanks again and will let u know once my grips are installed. Bye!!!

Re: How to measure the butt size of a shaft with a caliper.
Measure the exterior of the shaft, both for butt and tip sizes.
When measuring grip sizes, you take measurements 2" down from the grip cap.
