Using "Older" equipment......

Howdy...

In my bag, I have a Taylor Made Bubble Burner 9.5° Driver with a regular flex graphite bubble shaft. My guess the head is only 320 or 330 cc at the most. (but don't quote me...) The club is probably 15 years old now and I find myself wondering if I should upgrade the club.???

And, if so, what to...??

Is bigger better...???

With all the 'high MOI' discussion, I've been reading lately that there may not necessarily be any playable advantage to having a 460cc driver, as long as the driver is hot faced.

Since COR is maxed at .830 and since forgiveness can only be done so much with weighting and head shape, if I remember correctly, all other factors being the same, a 400cc head and a 460cc head are only 2 yards apart (dispersion).

For some of us, that 2 yards makes a difference. For the rest of us, it doesn't. 2 yards either way in the fairway won't have a noticeable impact on the approach, any more than 2 yards deep in the rough doesn't help find a line through the trees.

I'd upgrade to a driver head that fits your eye, with a shaft that fits your swing.
