  • Cleveland Wedges - Fake or Not

I purchased some Cleveland CG11 wedges off ebay last week and wanted to know if any of you guys out there had any suggestions as to how I could check whether they are fake or not.

I deliberatley didn't buy a new set as I thought a used set may be less likley to be fake. The wedges look fine but the reason I am a little suspicious is that I've heard there are a load of fakes going round and mine have arrived without any shaft labels.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Check them out against pictures at the Cleveland website.

I've compared my wedges with the pictures on the cleveland site and they look authentic. I will be taking them into the local shop aswell to compare them with a new set.

How can I find out what type of shaft is on the clubs if there are no shaft labels?

Assuming it's a stepped shaft, (not smooth like a Rifle shaft) you can measure the lengths of the steps.

It's most likely a True Temper Dynamic Gold taper shaft.
