  • Courses in Mallorca

I'm very average player with a limited budget looking to play a few round while in the Mallorca visiting relatives tis summer. Any suggestions? I'll need to rent clubs and transportation may be an issue so close to the city would be great.
I'll be near Club Real Bendinat (Portals Nous), which is supposed to be quite an attractive course.

    Re: Courses in Mallorca

    hi there,
i have recently been to majorca and played two courses both do club hire one was golf de poniente this was a fantastic course palm trees everywhere and in fantastic condition
the other was santa ponca 1 this may be a bit far for you to travel but again a course in superb condition pristeen greens the people in majorca really know how to look after the courses
if you play poniente look out for all the chickens they roam free everywhere and look out for the noisy goats (they have bells on the necks and they really make a lot of noise
both courses are well worth the green fee.
    hope this helps

      Re: Courses in Mallorca

I ended up only having time to play at Bendinat.

Very tough course -- lots of changes in elevation. 70 Euros for 18 holes. Nice looking course and good service. Well cared for although it's probably in better shape in the spring or fall. The greens were a bit patchy compared with what I'm used to especially for the price.

There are many many golf courses in Mallorca. I hear Santa Ponça has 3 courses alone.

yes, Son Vida is good. i am a bit confused abt pula. some give good review for it and some say its a flat course but service not good. what is your opinion james.

            Pula is terrible.

Son Vida was very good, but lacked a driving range to practice at before the round.

I think Pula is on the other side of the island, it's well known for the annual Mallorca Classic tournament. Can't see how a PGA event would be held at anything less than an A1 golf course. There are many courses on Mallorca and yes the greenskeepers seem to know their stuff. Bendinat has a driving range, practice green and rental equipment. Good location if you're in the Palma Nova area (west of Palma de Mallorca).
