Phones at our course aren't a huge problem.
Myself and others included who do have to have their phone on apologise at the start of the round just to make other golfers aware of the situation. Never have i encountered a problem with other members, like everything it's just polite curtosy to teh fellow players.
Needless to say i only have mine on when i am "on call" for work, which is very rare.
