  • Go Rotella!!!

The last few weeks I have been all over. After listening to Bob Rotella's audio book(s) (Play to Play great, Golf not a game of perfect) played a decent round. Shot 8 over on front, but stayed patient, accepted the results and came back with 3 over on the back nine to shoot 82.

Funny that his name would come up. I played with ex-touring pro Bob Friend a week ago and he spoke highly of Bob Rotella. He is well respected as a psychological guru by many U.S. Tour golfers.

So what will this Bob Rotella audio book do for me. I take it it's nothing to do with the Mechanics of golf but more the psychology.

                Rotella is fantastic.

I've read 'The Golf of Your Dreams', 'Golf is not a game of perfect', and 'Putting out of your mind'.

                Great books... great stuff.

Absolutely fantastic. Like my post on 'Great sex for the analytical mind', Dr Bob is the first read to give me the tools not to think of my swing on the course. The latter two books have given me the insight that to reach my goals I need to be patient and committed to my processes.

                  Get into it.

I think most people agree that once you've got the mechanics more or less sorted the game of golf is nearly all mental, and Rotella's books are great at telling you what to think (and what not to think)
You can get them all as paperbacks here in the UK, have a look on Amazon.

Anyone who hasn't heard of or read Rotellas stuff, go and get it now! I am a new member here but teach golf in Cyprus with a strong focus on the mental game. I don't agree that you should get swing right before worrying about mental game as I've read a few times already on this site.
The way you approach and think about the game will have a large impact on how you develop your game and swing. Mechanics and mental game work hand in hand so start now. Most people will have no idea what they are missing. Contact me for more recommendations if you like.

Harrington's just won the Open and credited Rotella in his acceptance speech, can't get better than that.
