  • neck and back pain

I am wondering if anyone could advise on treatment or otherwise.

After a car crash last year (rear ended) I suffer on and off with disc problem in the neck and lower back. I received chiropractic treatment for 6 months and this helped considerably. However, over the last week or so I am back to square one and dissapointed with the restriction to my swing. I dont see the point in repeat treatment as it has not been a 100% solution. Any fresh ideas greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Robert

Sorry but the only advice I'd give is not to take medical advice from here.

Its one thing taking golf advice from someone who hasn't seen your swing but even if any poster was qualified they can't examine you, look at your x-rays, check your case history etc.

Seriously though I'd go back and talk to the medics - specialist orthopaedics, chiropractors, and physiotherapists as recommended by your own quack - and get them to come up with a treatment and exercise regime.

    Good luck.

avoid the chiro's and go to a physio
At the very least the physio will refer you to a specialist if they feel it needs that level of treatment.
In my experience chiros are a disaster area, they are not trained enough (at least in this country) and will often continue treating someone blindly

Perhaps swinging weighted clubs will help. You need to start gradually with lighter weights first of course then work your way up to heavier ones. Tell us if it works...

Many pros have back problems. Some wear extra elastic brace support. Others opt for surgery. Check out the medical websites.
