many many years ago, played with a mate , who lost it completely and threw his complete golf bag in the lake and stormed off.he was a rugby player at the time, so he got a fair distance on the throw. next thing we see is him returning to get his car keys out of the bag, has to be the funniest thing i have ever seen in golf.

There are a couple of famous quotes about people throwing golf clubs.

1. Craig Stadler when asked about why he had aquired a new putter replied ' Because the last one didn't didn't float too well'

2. If you are going to throw your club make sure you throw it in front of you otherwise you have to walk back to go and collect it!

You know that is the first time I have seen a pro give an instruction (release the club early so you don't hook it) in a video and the proceed not to follow his own advice.

An astute observation there reefboy. I went back and viewed it again and you are absolutely correct, a definite hook to his left. Surely took a lot of distance off of what could have been an otherwise great throw. This lack of distance caused the club to land in much too shallow surf, allowing for a possible washing to the shore, where some unfortunate soul may find it and begin using it in his own bag. Erego the significance of timing and tempo, or should that be temper, when throwing ones club.

After starting a round on Wednesday afternoon with a quadruple and a double, then hitting a smothered pulled hook off the tee at the third, I took a firm grip of my driver with both hands, raised it over my head and down my back, and threw it into the ground as hard as I possibly could, comprehensively separating head from shaft.
I think I've broken at least 10 clubs, only one by accident.
I don't have a 7 iron at the moment, it is in two peices in the rough somewhere at Lauder in Scotland.

BTW, did y'all catch that behind the back throwing of the club at the Master's on Sunday. I believe it was Steve Flesh (correct me if I'm wrong) making that contribution to the art of throwing ones club. Really whipped that thing, but didn't want anyone to see. And where did Tiger's gentlemanly demeanor go for at least the first 15 holes. Oh the language. What a game.. Hell, he missed some of the same putts I missed at my local club on Sunday morning. How refreshing was that.
