Re: kinetic linking
Good information but more from an academic view than practical help to the novice pupil.
Reading my Article Plane & Path 111 and watching the attached video from Jeff Ritter will IMO be of more assistance to the novice. But I guess I would say that

I thought it was a load of tosh, pseudo scientific babble that, in the end told me that pros swing better than high handicappers.
Gee whiz Sherlock Cheetham you don't say.
Not a single word of that article would help 99% of golfers improve- a definite candidate for Room 101.

Re: kinetic linking
I think the info is great! It fits very nicely with the new equipment around like 3D motion analysis and accelerometers. For teachers it's a great resource to print out and keep for the right occassion.
Sure, I'd show it to a novice if they would benefit from the knowledge, understand it and learn by visual reference material. Anybody could understand it if it was delivered at a level the student would understand. Don't under estimate a lot of novices and how much insight they have...

Re: kinetic linking
With respect, my opinion is that most novices as well as those that have played golf for many years are either confused or baffled by much of the confusing information given out. If I had payed for a lesson as Joe average and was given that article it would probably be my last lesson.
I play a lot and watch a lot and the average golf swing is horrible, much probably due to confusion. I believe this is why the world average handicap remains in the mid twenties.Last edited by BrianW; 08-06-2008, 08:21 AM.

Re: kinetic linking
Ofcourse Golfinguy should post what he wants without apology. The site is largely about opinions after all.
I just to like to know HOW this informationm is likely to prove useful and to whom?

I just don't see how knowing this level of biomechanical detail will help anyone - other tha, that is the pro providing the service
With apologies to both Gregs, Graham, Kevin et al on I think that for 99% of teaching pros out there it will prove - just like video analysis* - to be cash generating snake oil designed to part the anxious to improve punter from his cash.
* I've stayed out of the last two video discussions because I know I'm in a minority of one on this but some one tell me why when equipment is better all round why video isn't bringing down the average handicap.
Donning flame proof jacket again.

Robin,
Where did that quote come from?

Brian, quote taken from the company's home page which you can derive from the link to the thinly disguised marketing material.
