  • Left wrist at impact, 2 different swings

    Hi Guys
Two q's, I have pretty much mastered the left wrist/back of left hand aimed at target at impact with my irons, but what is the position of the left wrist/back of left hand with woods compaired to irons, as the woods have more sweeping action and you don't need to take divot on target side of ball.
2- does one have to have 2 different swings for woods and irons? my swings feel different as my swingthoughts for these 2 are different.
    Thanks and regards

    Hi,

Your wrist action should be the same with your woods as your irons.

Your swing should also fundamentally have the same shape. What will change is the plane of your swing, as clubs get longer the plane will be more shallow to reflect the angle of the club at setup. The sweeping action is taken care of by the placement of the ball in your stance, longer clubs will have the ball more forward of centre, this along with the naturally flatter plane will create a shallower angle into the ball.

    I hope this helps?
