  • Swingyde Equivalent?

Is there a homemade swingyde equivalent? Or, another way to practice the takeaway without rolling the wrists?

You could use a coat hanger, preferably one of the plastic or wooden ones for heavy clothes like suits and coats. Grip the rod portion like you would a club, with the bent hanger portion upright in front of you and halfway up the forearms, when you take your address position. Make your backswing and forward swing. The coat hanger should remain in the same relative position between the forearms. You will see if you have over rotated the wrists or made any other inappropriate action.

I think the coat hanger drill should work fine.

I am not convinced that the RHD or Secret is the right way to swing a club, I think it is more of a drill to get the feel of preventing left wrist collapse and not something that should be used in a normal swing.

It's interesting that Zach Johnson uses the Swinggyde at the range when he practices and warms up before he plays. It looks like he's a one plane golfer?
