        Re: Getting too stiff?

Here it is then my progress report. Just done 9 holes with very little pain. I have worked at all the suggestions especially the right thumb pad gripping and keeping the elbow close to my body. I did not re-grip once! However, I found my backswing very awkward. It was like staccato done in 3 bits instead of a nice smooth backswing. I played some great shots though. Little problem was leaking a few right. If anyone has got any suggestions for these 2 probs I would appreciate it.

Brian W hit the nail on the head as I tend to do those things (flying R elbow with palm of hand moving away) with the same results. You can also try something that I have found helps. Take your backswing and hold the club up at the spot you feel your hand moving off. Remove your right hand completely off of the club, shake it out a bit and then place it back on the left hand with it more connected. Then readdress the ball, that is how it should look the first time at address. It may look like your right hand is in a slightly weaker position but you may find it helps with staying together on BS. Worked for me.

Well worth a try, thanks. Will give it a go. However, having a few days off now. I did not get much rib pain on the course but it dug into me later so not quite ready yet I feel.
