Re: problem with hitting driver too high
sounds like you are hitting the ball with your weight on your back foot, along with hitting down on the ball too steep, and quite possibly swinging out to in which will slice the ball.
tee the ball up so you have 1/4 of the ball above the top of the driver at rest. place teh ball 2" behind your front foot. close the face of the club a fraction as you could also be hitting the ball with the clubface slightly open.
you have to rotate your shoulders on the backswing, and swing down feeling only your arms moving. the rest should fall into place. don't try and hit the ball too hard.
here are a few youtube video's for you to look over
hope these help.

Re: problem with hitting driver too high
Thank you for the reply. Those were very instructional, especially the skeleton. I know for sure I am starting the backswing with my arms and not turning my hips. I will work on that as well shifting my weight more. Thanks again.

Re: problem with hitting driver too high
i would have a guess that ure hanging back on the right foot at impact and catching it too much on the upswing causing the height and lack of distance, if this is the case i would suggest maiking sure u finish with ure weight on the left foot at the finish and up onto ure right toe also, another tip i would say is instead of feeling like ure hitting the driver up in the air try and feel like ure hitting it out ,like sideways from u with all ure force going out and away from rather than anderneath and up,hit out not up,hope this helps

Re: problem with hitting driver too high
I was always hitting my drives way too high but have recently discovered why! I was told to keep my left eye behind the ball (Quite Right) but exaggerated this move and was putting far to much weight on my right foot causing me to hit up and create backspin so I made sure my left eye was level with the ball but kept my weight evenly spread between my feet. The ball is positioned opposite my left instep, I stand slightly closed and make sure I hit through the ball. Hope this helps someone.

Re: problem with hitting driver too high
Keeping your head behind the ball is a good idea, especially if you are skying the ball. If your head gets infront with the driver it makes you hit down too steep and this creates a high ball flight with too much spin.
