Where is CMAYS?

Where is CMAYS (aka Golfone)?? Anyone know how to contact him? He really gave excellent advice and I miss his posts.

Keep the hands in front of the right foot on the way back and then you can turn to the inside all you like with the hands or even with the shoulders.

We could take a golfer and have them to bend the right elbow at address which would bring the hands closer to the body because the hands are connected to the grip and when you bend the right elbow the hands move closer to the body and have him to swing back with the hands remaining out in front of the right foot on the way back and make the turn and they would have no problems hitting the ball straight.

The club, if you placed a tee in the butt end of the club is nothing more than an arrow with a feather on the top.

Hold the arrow in the right fingers with the feather up, hold the arrow in the right fingers and point the end of the arrow in front of the ball.

Bring the arrow back down and the weight of the feather falls and smacks the ball.

Point the end of the arrow behind the ball and bring the arrow down and you have early release and the feather drops behind the ball.

If you put a tee in the end of a driver or any club, slide the clubhead to the rear side of you and keep the hands out in front of the right foot and stop when the hands are at the right foot;

We could have you to turn the shoulders around or even bring the hands in way to the inside and the end of the arrow will point to the front of the ball.

If we had you to bring the hands across the right ankle or even start you with a shoulder turn in the backswing allowing the hands to move across the right ankle, the end of the arrow would point behind the ball.

In the downswing the hands return back down on the same line they came back on and you have early release and the clubface is not square.

Have the left hip and shoulder to turn too soon in the downswing from bringing the hands too far to the inside and now you are spinning around and pulling on the ball. This is the little over the top move.

"The Old Teachings" of bringing the hands back foe the 1st 14 to 16 inches in the backswing or depending on the club, bringing the clubhead straight back the 1st few feet or more was to keep you from bringing the hands too quick to the inside.

Someone like Moe Norman who widen the stance, move the clubhead behind the right foot at address which gave him straight arms and prevented him from bringing the hands to the inside too soon which also had his hands closer to the right foot at address and he could go directly into a shoulder turn in the backswing and the hands where pulled sraight back far enough that the end of the arrow pointed at the ball.

I have them to take a color tee and place it 6 inches to a foot in front of the ball, stuffed in the ground, depending on their body type, and in the backswing, just point the butt end of the club at the tee on the way back and the hands remain out in front of the body.

To have the butt end of the club to point at the tee on the way back forces the left hand outwards away from the body.

There are other methods also.

He admits to enjoying being cryptic... I know a few 'yoda' type instructors. Generally speaking they really know their stuff, but for one reason or another they choose to dole it out as cryptically as possible. Perhaps they feel it makes them seem wise.

The best instructor I've ever met is the exact opposite - he finds ways to help you understand; 'spoon feeds' if necessary. His students learn quickly and hit the ball better immediately by the end of the lesson. None of this "you're going to get worse before you get better" stuff.

I wouldn't nessisarly call it cryptic as much as i would say it is very difficult to explain in detail online with words. I would wager a large amount of money that people think i am trying to be cryptic and people find me hard to understand as well. I have read some of my old post and though "what the heck was I trying to say"

bceause it is in my mnid waht i am tyrnnig to say i can raed it claer as day, btu wneh i ralely look at it, i see taht smoemties it is kidna hard to read if you dno't konw what i am thinking when i say it. As that 1st sentence you know what i am trying to say so you can understand it, but if a spanish person tried to translate that, they would never know what it ment.

That being said this is online and it is free, it is not going to be as easy as in person 1 on 1 teaching. But 1 on 1 comes at a much higher price than free.

My friend, I can understand what you say and you are trying to help people. The other guy just throws out incomprehensible information and openly admits that he holds back the meaning because we are not paying for it. I could never understand how anyone considered his posts as helpful.

I stopped cruising this site a year or so ago because of his domineering self-serving blather. "...where are the hands...is the hip in or out...can't reveal...only paying customers get answers...".

I returned when a wonderful thread about "how we learn" was started which, unfortunately ended badly. It was wonderful because it touched on the very problem I saw as central to my own difficulty which is how do you translate words into action when everyone uses different physical descriptions/actions to explain the same concept. I thought golow? was spot on. But most importantly I saw that c-"not" was gone.

This site does have the best video clip references of any site.

That aside, he is a big headed load mouthed bully who reverts to personal abuse if anyone dares disagree with him, he caused no end of trouble to this site and drove off some good people. This has been a better place since his removal.

He did leave an impression. More than a few people really liked his postings. For me, it was usually way too much information. I like my advice simple.

None of us are perfect Brian. Personally I find your reticence truly annoying; if you have an opinion then don't beat about the bush just come out with it.

More seriously, I had no real problem with Cmays' posts; albeit they were way too detailed for a bear of little brain like me, but I know some posters thought that they benefited from his advice.

Whilst only to a small extent however I was on the receiving end of his abuse for asking the wrong question - and I don't think I'm the kind of dogmatic golf guru (not off my handicap ) to warrant an attack.

I wasn't that worried though and when we come to the incidents immediately preceding his departure from the forum I,m pretty sure that it would only have taken an "ooops guys, went a bit OTT there" for him to still be welcome as a poster.

I can only say again that he is IMO a most despicable person and I suffered an intolerable amount of personal abuse from him. This is someone who boasted he carried a cane when instructing people and was prepared to use it on students. Actually I don't know why we are wasting time resurrecting his demise from GTO, if anyone finds his style suitable they can always seek him out on the Mike Austin site or where ever he hangs out.

I will check out the site. In my quest for golf knowledge I will read what most anyone has to offer but it is still up to me to filter out and experiment what I can actually use and apply in my golf swing. Sigh, i will even have a conversation with Lucifer or Dracula online if it will improve my game. What harm can anyone do to you online? Its only words. But you can learn for free with nothing to lose and much golfing knowledge to gain.
