When setting up to the ball I feel like I have some downward wrist cock left which if just standing still I could easily just waggle the club and hit several inches behind the ball. Fat shots are my misses so I am wondering if at setup do I hang my arms downwards so there is no hinge in them at all? You hear alot about proper wrist action in the swing but what about at setup? Thanks John

Re: Wrist positon at setup?
I think I know what you mean but tell me, are you talking about a cup in your front wrist? If so, you can just break the wrists back without moving anything else and move the clubhead back. The answer is that the address position is not the impact position and your wrist at impact shouldn't look like your wrist at address. Your front wrist should be flat or slightly bowed forward at impact. You could do a forward press with your wrists to start your downswing simulating the impact position. Some do that. I do not.

Re: Wrist positon at setup?
When you form a fist with your hand it will naturally cup back. Hold out your right hand straight in front of you, thumb upwards. Now form a fist and see what happens to the back of your hand.
