i found with a 64% wedge that you can never control the amount of backspin. sometimes the ball stops dead and other times it spins back.
you never know how much it will spin back, 5 feet or 10 feet it a bit of a lottery. i feel with say a 56% wedge i have better control of backspin and have better results around the green. sometimes use a 60% wedge but not very often.
i use my 47% p-wedge, 52% s-wedge and my 56% L-wedge and find that covers all the shots i need round the green.
even the pro's have problems with the 64% wedge.
