  • multi-solution drill?

I was fooling around in the backyard swinging the club, and remembered an old drill.

You take an iron club in each of your hands and swing them back and forward as in a normal swing, using weight shift, rolling of the feet in rythym, shoulder and body turn, arm swing, wrist cock, release, etc.

It seemed to me that in order to swing the clubs in unison, parallel with each other but about 6" apart and not have them going at odds with the other, you have to have good tempo and fundamentals for a good swing. The body parts have to be working in the proper sequence and in position without having to think about it, and one part is not taking over the other.

I'm pretty sure Gord used to advocate this one to check your grip for each hand, too - if your clubface wasn't returning square on both clubs, you needed to adjust the grip of the club that was out.
